I've got a 2014 Sprinter and want to upgrade to a Mercedes Audio 15 (Alpine RY2550) head unit. I got it from a German eBay seller. It mentions that it would need coding in the listing and after fitting it displays the message:
"Antitheft protection activated please contact your local Mercedes workshop"

I tried a coding guy but they said they can't work on Mercedes.
I then took it to my local Mercedes Specialist, he hooked it up to his STAR diagnostic system but told me he wasn't able to change the coding of the head unit.

Not sure what my next step is. Any advice would be welcome.

Hi
You need to get the Anti-theft pin for your unit. Talk to www.comand.co.uk

It will need some careful work with Xentry Diagnosis to get it unlocked and coded properly, I'm not sure who is in Manchester that can do this.

I contacted www.command.co.uk and got this reply:

Hi Sean,
Thanks for the email.

Im afraid we only supply anti theft pin codes for units we supply
ourselves, sorry.

If you get the pin code then we are more than happy to install it and code
it in the vehicle for you.

Best wishes,
Mark

I have the VIN number of the vehicle the head unit came from if that is any kind of help.
