Hey guys , my W211 e320 cdi has developed a strange noise from the front suspension. It can only be described as a sort of creaking/like an old bed

When I push down on the front wings it creaks as when I am driving , the suspension feels fine itself but this noise is driving me crazy its only noticable when the windows down .Apart from the noise it handles spot on:thumb:

Any ideas or rec. where best to take it Im based in Doncaster

Cheers in advance

Neil

.

Spray some silicone lubricant on the rubber suspension parts.

the ball joints can cause this noise when they get a bit seized up due to water ingress.

check dampers also.

It appears that the squeaking also happens when I turn the steering wheel from side to side when stationary is that more than likely the ball joints anybody???

You might have a broken spring, get them replaced before they really fail. One of mine did and the car was almost sitting on the tyre, turning the wheel made tyre hit wheel arch, needed breakdown truck to garage. Not expensive job.

Quick update was the Suspension arm just needed greasing ...many thanks

£80+vat charged at Merc dealer
