SRS issue

Hi Guys,
My wife has just informed me that a warning message on her 2004 C-Class C200 Kompressor Coupe has appeared on the info panel telling her the car has an SRS problem ,my scanner wont read it & until im back at work i wont have access to a Solus machine to obtain the code SO i was wondering if anyone knows if there is something common on this model that might be the cause of the warning light coming on ??
Any help would be greatly appreciated !

Mine, facelift model, had the clockspring (in the steering column) wiring go. It's quite common, apparently, and Mercedes did it under goodwill when the car was 5 yrs old although that may have been because it would have been covered by the service and maint contract (the old ServicePlus scheme) anyway.
