Somerset,wonderful part of the country.
Car
CLK 230K Cabriolet
What a bad start to the day,6.30 ouside local **sco.Got back into car and nothing,ie all lights on dash working turn the key and silence.
Phoned the RAC who were there within 25 minutes, brilliant service in my eyes.A quick tap on the starter solenoid and off we go.
Now having only had the car for 2 months and still under warrenty should i push for a new starter,
Peace of mind comes to the fore.
General opinions would be welcome.

Nothing to be lost by trying for a replacement.
Once it's happened, it's quite likely to happen again.

Cheers.

Is this a new car or one covered by a Mercedes tier 1 warranty or was it bought outside the mercedes dealer network?

Try for a replacement S/M.
The worst that can happen is they can say NO.
If they say No ... Then you can always press for a contribution.

Be aware that replacing a starter motor can be quite difficult due to inaccessibility of the securing bolts. This varies from model to model so just be aware of this if you are thinking of DIY! Ideally your warranty should cover parts and labour . Often aftermarket warranties are really a form of insurance policy which pays the garage for the repair to be done. It depends what's covered by the warranty?
