Vito W638
Hi, I just bought an old Vito W638 from 2000, and two days ago I requested an inform of the official mechanical revisions, where it lists the kilometers done by the car in every year, and something strange is happening here.

We can see on the chart 4 differents times the kilometers were manipulated:
1- On 2017, and 25.000kms have been lost
2- On 2019, 400.000kms lost
3- On 2021, 300kms lost

If this only have happened once, I would know clearly this was a scam, but doing it in this way, I am thinking maybe is there something wrong in the vehicle that creates this problems. I don't know, just guessing.

If it is a electronic/mechanical problem creating this, it would be a very strange problem, and really don't think that's what's happening, but before making any legal move or confrontation with the seller I want your opinion.

What do you think about that?

What sort of mileafge does the condition suggest it has done?

What does the MOT history show?

Private seller or dealer?

I am not that good at mechanics to say that, but I would say it is more than the 240.000kms that were supposed to be.

Sorry, but don't know what is a MOT

It is a private seller. The modifications were made by the previous owner, but I think legally the seller it is in the obligation of knowing the real conditions of what he is selling, so I think legally it is still responsible for scam crime.

Are you saying that you do not know what an MOT is? Where are you based

It is the annual inspection test virtually all vehicles have to pass from their 4th year of registration.
If it is a private sale you have very little legal redress unless the seller misrepresented the vehicle.

Do you have any proof of a scam by the seller?

I am not from UK haha MOT means nothing for me, in my country is called ITV

I am not sure about whay you say I have no redress because it is a private. I paid for a 240.000kms vehicle, not a 700.000kms vehicle with a 240.000kms, and much less for a full 700.000kms.

I don't have proof, but I think the law says a seller has to know exactly what is selling (except for a difficult to notice mechanical problem)

Your location on here is stated as Birmingham.

If you are abroad then different laws apply.
