Vito
Hi Guys
I've got a 2004 Vito which I'm having a problem with, it doesn't seem to recognise when the drivers door is being opened. If I unlock the van with the key, I can open the door and shut it, and about a minute later the doors lock again on their own? Also if I leave my lights on and open the door there's no warning buzzer?
Any ideas?
cheers

It'll be the switch/sensor which activates the courtesy light I'd imagine.

If this doesn't trigger then the vehicle will not know the door has been opened and hence trigger the 'auto-locking' mechanism on the alarm and also not activate the lights on warning.

As above

Switch has probably got stuck. Clean it up maybe a bit of the WD40 and you should be fine.

thanks for the replies, where will i find the switch?

Usually located in the door frame at the front of the frame. You may have one or two spring loaded buttons that are activated by the door closing and pushing them in - or opening and allowing them out.

Definately the switch , i had exactly the same on my CLK if i unlocked the car and opened the passenger door to put the granddaughter in the back then the alarm would go off after about 20 secs. As suggested a good dose of WD40 in the switch sorted it.

If its like my 2000 vclass then the switch will be in the door lock. The switch on the frame only seems to operate the interior lights. Maybe it's faulty wiring at the door hinge either.

OP, you could have left replying for two more days and made it a nice round Calender month from ya initial post!

Ah grinning like a cat eh ?

Sometimes i wonder why bother answer when often people post and never come back. Although its funny when someone answers a post that years old. I wonder how old a post has ever been answered ?
