I posted re the thermo.............

My W123 has now decided it wants to stall when in D, and sat in traffic, but with the brakes on.

Only started yesterday (COLD). Still runs A1 hot or cold, but as I listed, she is struggling to warm as (prob) needs a new thermo.

Only evident when parking, but it just cuts out, rumbles, and the dies. Starts straight away, though.

Is this linked to the thermo issue, or an idle speed issue?

What's the idle speed when the problem occurs? Is it doing it when hot or cold? Hot idle should be about 750rpm IIRC. There's an idle speed adjustment screw underneath the left hand side of the air filter housing.

Get the thermostat replaced and then see what happens. I suspect you'll be fine.

Yes the throttle control all works by the water temp... change the thermostat and i would change the coolant too while you are there..

Idles @ 750rpm.

Only stutters when cold.

Sorting the thermostat on Sunday so hopefully that'll do it. It's only started to happen in the cold.
