subwoofer install

hey guys i have a mercedes c class coupe ( W203 ) and im gonna put a subwoofer in it this weekend , i have install subwoofers previos on my other cars but they wasnt so '' new '' and they dident had a computer and so many senzors , so i was thinking is somebody got any tips ? thank you

Are you running an aftermarket head unit or using existing? I don't know the W203 very well so can't say what outputs would be there. The rest is same as you would normally do, run power down one side (if applicable) and RCA's down the other. Ensure you have a good earth and an inline fuse correct for the gauge of wire/power.

On my car (W204) www.comand.co.uk fitted a flat subwoofer (aka 'underseat subwoofer' due to its preferred location in American SUVs) in the boot, on the back of the rear bench backrest (I don't have the split/folding rear sit option).

It is fitted to the side of the rear bench backrest, because as you know the spatial location of the subwoofer is not important (apparently the human ear is incapable of identifying the source location of very low bass sound?).

It works quite well, though rear seat occupants often mention a 'massage' effect when the volume is cranked-up....

Unfortunately I can't help with advice regarding the wiring, as it was professionally installed and not done as DIY.

I have a w203 coupe with an Alpine Sub hidden behind the passenger foot rest along with Morel speaker set up in the front and back of the doors using standard locations all running off the command unit... sounds very good...
