Sunroof stuck open help please

I have to go and pick a 1997 E300td estate from Scotland this week, and the sunroof is stuck open. Can anyone tell me if I can close it without power to the moter.

I think you can, if memory serves me correctly, there should be a manual over-ride mechanism hidden away under the interior side trim on the offside towards the rear, probably in the load area. Once you lift the flap/access cover up, you can then manually wind the sunroof closed but you will need to insert a handle/key of somesorts into the manual mechanism. I'm pretty sure this is the case of the W124 so I'm assuming the same is still true for your W210.

On the W202 there is an allen screw inside the interior light on the passenger side that can be used for manually closing the roof.

i had a look on the epc (which actually lists the 'emergency key' - which looks distinctly like a z shaped allen key pn 202 899 01 80 )

so itys the same as the 202 - ie open / pop off the interior light and its in there... take a full set of metric allen keys just in case
