Super unleaded / Unleaded

Couple of questions - are you using the Millers 'Petrol Power EcoMax' stuff in the 500ml bottle? If so, how much are you putting in per tank? (assuming a tank on your CLS63 is 70 litres?) - considering buying some for my M177 C63S but could do with knowing quantities. Sorry for the thread hijack!
Hi

So the tank is 80L so I put in there 50ml and yes its the EcoMax stuff

Thanks for that. I've just bought some EcoMax (last bottle from Halfords). Are you running your car with WOT/high RPM with 95+EcoMax or just 'getting by' until you can get hold of V-Power/whichever brand? Just trying to gauge if its safe to do that, in the event I can't get the good stuff...

My opinion only… given how difficult it is to get petrol these days, I’m driving like I got Ms Daisy out the back until things become ‘normal’ again. As you can appreciate, I start the sucker up and lose a quarter tank 🤣🤣

My understanding is that retarded timing to avoid knock is less likely in colder weather. So on the basis that the weather is cooler and very few people are on a track day, it is probably going to be OK.

Not the same as getting the maximum power, so I’d go with super wherever possible, but not the end of the world.

I’ve bought a bottle of Lucas Octane Booster but so far have managed to find V-Power the one time I have needed it. 440ml bottle was around £14, and I had planned to use it over two tankfuls of 95.

Well I was in my local Morrisons this morning at just gone 6am and they had super unleaded ,but suspect it is going to be couple of weeks before everybody can pull up at their local filling station and get it

Good to know. It is a day of private driving tuition that i'm doing, so I should only be sharing the various tracks/courses with manufacturer test mules and the like. I'm assuming there will be some full throttle stuff, but certainly not flat out all the time like a track day.

I'm only going to resort to regular and the booster if I have no other choice, even if that means hunting round before time to find super somewhere.
