Suspension rattle

Good afternoon guys,

Really strange one as the garage can’t even find an issue but can hear the rattle so I know it’s a daft question to ask here but thought you guys might know a little more or have had similar problems? 17plate e class

Was mot’d and serviced last week and they had to replace a suspension arm osf. Yesterday was coming out of a carpark and had full lock on to the right, immediately out of the junction is a small speed bump and went over it at around 5mph? It sounded like I’d hit the kerb, noticeable metallic clunk then the rest of the drive was the rattle?

I thought spring/suspension but like I say they can’t find anything? 2 of them spent an hour searching and nothing!

Anything unusual I could look for? Any advice would be great!

Could it be the brake floating callipers rattling?
Go over the same hump, pressing brake slightly and see if it still does it.

Also could be the drop links worn easy/cheap fix.

Which model and year is it? How many miles have you done?

It’s a 2017 E class with 36000 miles.

I’ll try the brake tomorrow. If it were something like the drop links the garage should have picked that up? I’d hope! Does anyone know of a specialist in Harrogate/Leeds sorta area?

You can’t really tell they are worn until you remove them and feel the looseness in the sockets compared to new one.

Had similar problem with CLK some years ago, loose front calliper.
No clonks when breaking.

Hi guys,

Yes sorted by a different mechanic! Turns out the newly fitted suspension arm wasn’t tightened up. I even took it back there for them to check out…
