suspension shims

hi chaps
i have a suspension question ive got a 98' clk 320 elegance which ive lowered on eibach springs but the front sits a little too high

my question is regarding the rubber shims fitted to the top of the springs are there any 'rules' to which models elegance, sport, ********** have a certain size shim fitted as o.e.

eg my elegance is comfy spec so does this equal largest shims

im trying to work out whats fitted to the car already so i can order the correct size from MB to lower it another 10mm

Anyway do a forum search for "spring pad" and you will find lots of info, one thread here with lots of 202 meausrements that might be helpful.

The pads have dimples so you can check what is currently there (see photos on some of the threads).

I think it's just to show up people who can't spell Avantgarde...

"Elegance" is one of the factors in calculating the "points count" to determine which springs and pads are fitted. See here.
