hi all swissvax how good is it? ive been using swissvax products for a while now there wax is just about the best (i use best of show) but what about there other produtcs are they worth the extra money over other makes

What colour car do you have? I use a Autofinesse Spirit wax on darker, harder paints but my favourite is Werkstatt acrylic sealant on medium or softer paints as I can correct them more easily before applying. Almost the same level of performance but at a fraction of the price. The wax has the advantage of hiding the micro marrs and swirls better, especially when used with the tripple glaze.

Sorry I cant compare them to the Swissvax but would like to know, the problem is it is they are all far to expensive to start experimenting with.

Hi, I have the entire range (nearly;)

, and I would say the only products that are my favourite in there genre' are:

Pneu
Leather milk
Rubber seal

I have 6 of there waxes too inc crystal rock and love them all. But these above are fantastic. Everything else they make can be match by another product or out done. Obviously that's my personal oppinion.

I only have a few SV products but like them all:

Shield - good durability and so easy to apply
SV cleaner fluid - provides a good oily base for the the wax
Seal Feed - fantastic on rubbers
Pneu - nice tyre dressing
SV nano express - very under rated in my opinion

I would buy any of these again.

Oh and Car Bath - nice shampoo but I prefer Chemical Guys shampoos and Werkstat Auto Body Wash

Name me a swissvax product and I will tell you what I prefer to use and what I feel is better.

In the price bracket Wolfgang fusion is much better. But waxes are a hard one as its personal preference. I'm talking more about there dedicated products.

Thanks.

My I ask how you rate Autofinesse waxes, in particular the Spirit at £90?

The auto finesse range are pretty good. Ease of application and durability is very good too. There just not very refined in my personal oppinion. But like I have said, waxes are the one product in detailing that really is a personal preference. Where's dedicated products for individual jobs is where it's easy to pick out the good and the bad. Such as snow foams, shampoos, wheel cleaners, degreasers, clays, compounds, polishes, glazes, fillers, cleaner fluids, glass costs etc

Thanks again,
The autofiness Spirit I bought was in a promotion with free applicators, tripple glaze and quick detailer. As you say the longevity is fairly good. It actually lasts a couple of months rather than 1 week which I found my £5 bottle of turtle wax did.

If you properly decontaminate paintwork, the durability of any wax can double its standard time. If you completed the following:
Degrease & rinse.
Wash & rinse.
Chemical bath & rinse.
Dry.
Clay.
Full ipa wipe down.
Apply cleaner fluid.

....and then you put 2 coats of wax on 24 hours apart suddenly your £30.00 wax will actually last 5-6 months. It's all about the prep! If there is any fall out that is stopping the lsp to attach to the paintwork perfectly then this can reduce the wax durability dramatically.

this is with 2 coats of swissvax best of show

You're absolutely right to hark on about the old "7 P's Principle" - something like P*** Poor Preparation Prevents Proper Performance. Heard it so many times when I was working!

When we got the 204 end of March she looked pretty good (sold by MB Ashford, so you'd hope the prep was OK!!). However, within a month I'd washed, clayed, machine polished and hand waxed the car, have only washed it since - and am only now thinking that she could maybe do with another polish and wax. That's with AG Bodyshop 01B hard polish (applied with a DAS6) and AG Hi-Def (or maybe Swissvax Onyx wax - can't be sure which one I used!).

try 2 coats of onyx thats apply one coat then take it off then apply second coat and leave it on for 24 hours before taking it off

I clean it,
then clean it again with tar and bug remover,
then clean it with deiorinser,
then clean it with a clay bar
and then clean it with a cleansing glaze (Auto finesse tripple).
If thats not preparing the surface well, I give up :)
