System 20 in B class W245

Hi,My ice system 20 has gone dead.All the functions work on display but there is no sound at all from radio or Cd player.I am advised to check Amplifier fuse.My question is ,where is the amplifier and where is its fuse,hopefully not under the front passenger seat.Thanks in advance.

*if* you have Harmon Kardon then the amplifier is behind panel on right in the boot.

If you don't it is in the Audio-20 itself. I have not seen a car with Audio-20 and Harmon Kardon sound upgrade, so I guess the latter.

Pull the fuse for the Audio system (and the phone and CDC if you have them) for 20 seconds and re-insert. May be easiest to disconnect the battery for a minute - just undo the earth wire (BROWN) leave the red one well alone

Hi,Could not see Amp in boot,so took out fuse as advised, hey presto, sound returned.Why do amps do this? Thanks a load. Best regards.

Richard,Further to the replies I assumed there would be a separate amp.as car has Harmon speakers and therefore would have Harmon everything else.I was probably wrong.Still all is well,thanks again,Paul.

Congratulations. You have the only W245 B class I have seen with Audio-20 and with Harmon Kardon Sound system !!!

I guess the error was with the head unit, and power cycling that sorted it. I'm sure the amp is in the boot on left hand side behind by the rear light cluster - but there certainly is an amplifier.
