The one I fired had tracer rounds every few shots too, so as it was an evening shoot they looked pretty amazing going down range.A skilled operator will be able to fire single shots from the GPMG.. those who fired one, will know what I mean
Very well done. May I ask what you were using for that please MJ.?I have no airgun.. but I did get a V-bull at 600 yards in Bisley today (well, I had to tell someone!).
Presumably one of those very serious looking fellows on Century as I drove past this morning? Things were a little more...agricultural up on Short Siberia, running a Garand and a No4 Enfield.I have no airgun.. but I did get a V-bull at 600 yards in Bisley today (well, I had to tell someone!).

As original, so 30-06 and 303 British.Yup, that was on Century, on Saturday
Both rifles are legendary, what are they chambered in?
Dabbled with that too in my yoof, wasn’t much good at that eitherArchery here. Slightly different skill set
No wonder you chose the career you did! LOLBack in the day at school we had an indoor 15mtr range in a dedicated building; ostensibly for shooting BSA Martinis (.22lr). There were 3 firing points which we significantly uprated the back stops on. We then shot with some of the other stuff we had in the Armoury. This included old Lee Enfield .303s, Parker Hale 7.62s, SLRs, SA 80's and a variety of .38 and 9mm pistols we had.
We drew the line at shooting the Bren guns and gpmg's indoors; mainly because the business end of the range backed on to the caretakers back garden.
As they say "different times" and you can imagine I loved my school's days
I did a bit with my folks who were keen archers (Field), and i always struggled as im right handed but left eye dominant. When i got back into it a bit over lockdown i did quite a bit of research and trained myself to shoot left handed. Felt weird at first and maybe took 1000 arrows to feel natural but my accuracy and consistency improved massively. Now if i pick up a bow i automatically go to shoot left handed!Dabbled with that too in my yoof, wasn’t much good at that either
Further to the above, this is a link to the Artillery Day brochure/programmeThe one I fired had tracer rounds every few shots too, so as it was an evening shoot they looked pretty amazing going down range.
That said, again going back in my past, I went to an Artillery Day at Larkhill and among other very impressive sights (which included an Honest John missile launch which was a real WTF! moment), seeing 105mm day tracer rounds going down range at some old tanks from some Abbot self-propelled guns was ridiculous. The ricochets gave a real sense of just how fast these things travel and how much energy they have.
