Read about it on the U.S. forum. Put key in ignition turn to last click before start up. Keep foot pressed on accelerator for 15 seconds. Turn key off and then release pedal. Or even easier disconnect battery for 15 mins. They swear by it!! Saying as the ecu learns driving style and because most of the time we're sitting in traffic the tcu gets lazy. The reset is supposed to make the world of difference.

Yes it works

Connect to STAR and reset adaptions. Then drive the car sedately up and down the gears at least 3 times. Then drive the car hard, maxing the revs in each gear at least 3 times. Then drive as normal. Amazing effect smoothing out the shifts and improving the responsiveness....

You can achieve exactly the same by doing a few fast pull away from the lights etc.

My focus RS had something similar called the Kam fuse. By pulling this the ECU resets any stored driving styles. If you spend a lot of time sitting in traffic then the car isn't expecting spirited driving. If this trick you mention does work it will soon resort back to how it is now purely because thats the way you drive.
Alternatively if you started doing a lot of spirited driving it would soon learn and you will get sharper throttle response.
