Tel Error on screen

Hi

I have just bought a CL500 - 2003. It has the large screen in the centre console. When i press the 'Tell' Button i receive the following message.

Tell Error
No Phone.

I have looked in the glove compartment and there is no phone or phone cradle.
What are the steps for me to get my phone to work? and is the unit bluetooth?
