Just a quick post to say merc's atitude to goodwill repairs is not all bad. Noticed two tiny areas of rust in both rear wheel arches of my C55. So small it hardly shows on the photos. However, after being defeated by rust on my C36, i thought i would 'nip it in the bud'. So i went along to the merc approved bodyshop and after numerous photos of the wheel arches, my V5 and every service done in the booklet, Mercedes Benz Germany goodwilled the repair. Delighted with the service of Merc and bodyshop.

Why is it goodwill? What about the corrosion warrenty? or even better a prestige car that should not rust.

Merc corrosion warranty is 3 years + 5 years goodwill...for the good will to be approved car must have been serviced as scheduled, no mods etc. But your right, galvanised panels etc., should not be happening! Car is a late 2004 with only 46k.

How long did it take to get approval for the repair.

I made a claim for rust three weeks ago, but havn't received a reply yet.

I must remember to give mine a good check over next time I wash it.
