Hi,

Bought my car a few weeks back. I live in Cornwall and there aren't any Mercedes tuning specialists down this way so I had a look on Google, found this forum and MSL Performance. So luckily, at short notice Acid booked me in for a pulley and remap on the way home.

The standard CLS was pretty tame, 100 miles in comfort mode (I didn't know of other modes) The wheels didn't spin up with the traction control off so I knew I needed more.

So I arrive in Birmingham, wow that place is scary to drive in. Plus another customer at MSL told me I might get car jacked on the way out by gangs so by this point I had Mum saved on speed dial and two cans of Red Bull incase things kicked off, ha.

I had some lowering links from eBay, no trouble, Acid had them fitted in minutes and my car on the dyno. After a few hours and a bite to eat (on the house!!!) and a new water cooler pump I took the car out again and what a difference!

Loads more power and the wheels spun up with the traction control off, perfect. I think it put out 470whp or thereabouts. Still loads of room for improvement as it's still standard. Just need headers, full exhaust, cams and anything else that will make it reliably faster.

So, big thanks to Acid and the crew! Really friendly bunch and a great stretch of road to floor it down outside.

Look forward to doing more to the CLS over the summer!

Cheers,

Tom

Nice one tom they do say Acid is the top man. 500 mile round trip though. What happened to Celtic tuners then thought they originated from down Cornwall. Will be in Newquay myself in a couple of weeks :)

:D:D:D

Good news about the car though :thumb:.

Was a long trip so stopped by MSL on the way home. I picked the car up from Leeds after a flight from Exeter to Manchester so just wanted to break the journey up. Celtic are well known down here for generic stuff. Their site doesn't list tuning for the CLS 55 AMG, just the 63 2010 onwards, plus I wanted a pulley too and lowering. Newquay is a good night out, get some fake tan and ray bans! Works every time! Ha

:D That customer wasn't the owner of a de badged Palladium E63 saloon by any chance?

Nice to hear you are happy with the upgrades. MSL are a top outfit!

Nice one Tom, I shall be chomping on the free chicken Monday as I'm popping down there. 340mile round trip but worth every yard :)

Oi, I've never been mugged once at MSL. Nor by them before anyone comments. :)

Told you earlier Chris, no chicken left, me and Steve finished it off yesterday. :p

Ha, I'm not sure who the people were or which cars were theirs, just know the faces and everyone was really helpful. Heard an E55 with headers, sounded great and the owner was explaining how stuff works. The other chap had an iPhone charger which saved me as the sat nav was playing up and I'd have been screwed without battery!

Thanks to all.
