The Mercedes dashcam mystery

Hi,
Well, I finally bit the bullet and "installed" the Mercedes dashcam in my 2013 B250e. I had some concerns about its use of USB ports...but it was no problem at all. I had two USB ports occupied, one for music and the other for dashcam videos (all in MP4 format). When the dashcam installed itself, it identified that there were two USB ports and simply asked me to select which to use. No problem at all.
However, when I came to replay the recordings via Media, it claimed that there were none. You have probably guessed what is going on...the Media has no option for selecting a different USB for dashcam video..it simply just checks the original, single, USB that it recognised when it was installed, which contains only music. When I remove the music USB it finds and replays my dashcam videos with no problems.
So the dashcam software seems able to USB from a set but the Media seems unable.
I have lodged a query on this with Mercedes and I am waiting for their response. I could just try reinstalling the Media software with two USB ports but it needs to be able to select two, one for music and the other for video and the software does not seem very modern to me...so perhaps they will send me a patch.
Meanwhile, has anyone else come across this problem..and have they found a solution?
Thanks for reading this
George

Here's an answer that I received from Mercedes, relating to my B250e

Following your correspondence, we approached our Technical Team and they reported that the vehicle cannot manage more than one media source at a time. The way you have been operating is the only way to manage the USB drives. Sadly, there is currently no fix for this.

As an alternative, the USB drive for the dashcam can be removed and copied to a laptop, or your personal computer in order for you to review the records, instead of doing so in the car. On your personal computer, you will also be able to delete the USB drive and plug it back to the car for new recordings.

So, the answer is, that you cannot! Sadly
