Now just filling the AC and gearbox with fresh oil.

No long now.....

seems like Jack is doing all the work, while Olly takes the pics :)

Hi,
Just goes to show how quick it can be done Olly, but you have some practice lol ;)
No problems unduing Trans cooler Oil pipes then i take it?
Are you doing the coolant hoses for the Trans cooler the same when you did mine?
Starter being on the other side was a bit unexpected, whats the difference between my 55 engine and Jacks?

Same coolant pipe as yours. No issues with the trans cooler either.

Starter issue was overcome easily.

I'm guessing then that you dont need to.

The timing will be the same I guess, may need a bit more fuel/air I suppose but a simple remap could achieve that.

If hes done it the same as mine, you use the 43's loom and ECU

SHE RUNS!

I can't do a sound clip as I don't know how.

We have a very slight missfire to sort too.

What exactly was the starter issue?
I thought the M113 block was the same regardless, so the starter would be in the same place on both engines, and what i can recall the starters were the same item, when we fitted the 55 in my car.

Top work. Makes what I've achieved today look very dull in comparison...

Maybe the E55 uses a different starter motor setup to the CLK/C M113 setup, perhaps due to the steering setup being different on the W210 chassis (?)

I've managed to move a set of figures from one spreadsheet column to another, and finished a powerpoint presentation - pales into insignificance!

Cracking job guys, wish I was there tomorrow to see it :thumb:

The only thing i can think of is the orientation of the solenoid on the E55 Starter motor due to possible clearance issues in the C43.

What a great post
Ollie all you have to do is change the title in the post and repost it in the HOW TO SECTION :thumb::bannana:

We are just doing a engine oil flush out and then a road test.....
