After I bought my car I curbed an alloy. Because it was diamond cut, I had to send it away for refurb. I have now done it again and curbed another alloy. Im located in the Highlands, but plan on going to Edinburgh for a few days next month. Looking on Google brought up The Wheel Specialist who claim they can refurb the diamond cut finish, although they use a 3rd party to machine the wheel.

Basically I have 2 questions. Has anybody used them and if so, how good are they? And, the opinion seems to be to just powder coat the wheels rather than diamond cut it again as the finish is more durable and lasts longer. I agree with this and I realise a stone chip can let water under the laquer and cloud the metal finish, but I really like the diamond cut look. What are everyones thoughts on which way to go?

Thanks

Thanks, I read that. How is your refurb holding up, are they still in good condition?

I don't have any personal experience of the wheel specialist, but over on detailing world forum they have a poor reputation. My brother had his C class alloys refurbed by their Manchester branch last month. They are much improved but far from perfect. The price was very good so maybe its a case of you get what you pay for.

Personally I wouldn't use them based on what I saw on my brothers car. I know I would not be happy however cheap they were, just my own take on them.

It's over two years since I had the refurb and although there is a slight blemish or two trying to creep through the laquer, the wheels still look very good indeed.
Rimfurbish were the only company I could find that offer a 12 month guarantee on a diamond-cut finish. Some companies offered 3 months and others no guarantee at all.

Here is a recent image of my car.
