Thermostat replacement

Thanks m8
I have have the part number from the dealer: A2742003300 (£152.00)but i was wondering should i go with the dealer or any other brands online for about half the price !?
like gates for example ?

Its recommended that the inlet manifold gasket to be replaced too .
Do you think i should do it or just put some silicon grease on the old ones and reuse them?
I bought some silicon grease to use on the thermostat oring while installing but i was wondering if any brand or sort of silicone grease would do the job or it has to be a special one!?
As i couldn't find any suitable silicone grease and part shops .
There are lithium base grease but no silicone !

I got one from the nottingham branch today .
Any idea if i should use any specific coolant or the ones from gfs or eurocarparts are ok too !?
I collected the coolant in a clean bucket to reuse as it didnt look so dark or dirty.
Regards

Got the same problem on my c350 with the M276 engine. Using the TORQUE app, coolant temp is between 75 & 80 degrees - had fault code P0128 a couple of weeks ago, although it's not come back since I cleared it. Apparently the MB thermostat assembly for the M276 is on backorder - now waiting delivery of a Wahler thermostat from Autodoc. I believe Wahler is the OE supplier for the thermostat assembly.

As a 2012, your car would have had blue coolant from new (MB325.0). If it's blue, you can use Comma G48 coolant to refill / top up.
If your car has red coolant, that is the 2014-onwards coolant, don't mix the two.

Hi
I bought the termostat from the dealer as I couldn't find a good one in the net . Just a thing, there are other mercedes dealers around the country that supply the parts with a competitive prices , sometimes much cheaper so do Google your part number and chek them on ebay too .

Hi
Apparently from 2_3 years ago mercedes changed all coolant to pink ( as I was told by the dealer ) so they only do pink coolant for all mercedes , you can't mix them , just have to flush the system and use the new pink one or alternatively purchase other brands .

Just an update guys
I have changed the termostat myself and drove it around the corner and everything looks OK so far.
No strange noise or warning lights yet 👀
All the previous problems and symptoms are fixed .
Reaching the operating temperature as before and thermosat stays shot until it reaches the required temperature ( 90+ ) and the suddent rush of hot coolant in the return fat radiator hose.
Fingers crossed 🤞 its done
