These 'should' fit shouldnt they?

I would check your insurance first ... quite likely you won't be covered any more if you fit car rims to a van. Regardless of whether they go on or not they won't have the right load rating.

Thanks for the comment. Kerb weight on 109 Vito is 1818kg, kerb on a E280 1695kg, not much difference, also some Vito's have alloys? When I insured my Vito they classed it as an MPV as it has 6 seats.

Im unsure of alloy wheel spec difference but a loaded 280 at circa 2220kg with a top speed of 149mph, I struggle to see they would not be suitable. I guess an issue with an insurance company I should check.

Purely on the original question.... I guess these would physically fit?

Thanks

Btw Bill, how the heck did you get bhp/torque figures like that from a 120 Vito?

The maximum gross weight of a 639 Vito is 2.77 tonnes, so you would need to fit rims (and tyres) rated for that.

Physically, even if the offset and rolling radius were right I think those wheels will be for 12mm bolts whereas the Vito uses 14mm bolts (because of the higher weight).

Your best bet would be a set of proper Vito (or possibly Viano) wheels, you would still have to declare them as non-standard though. There's a reasonable list here:

Mercedes VITO 639 alloys | Alloy Wheels Direct Ltd

BTW I think your Vito would be classed as a DPV (dual purpose vehicle), rather than MPV. The MGW is the same for the Dualiner and panel van anyway so it wouldn't make any difference as far as wheels / tyres go.

Mst car insurers are quite OK about mods. but a lot of van insurers aren't - even if wheels etc. are up to spec. So I would definitely ask before going too far on this. Our Vito came from the factory on 17" (van) alloys - I asked our insurer about swapping them for something else and got a flat refusal - no cover if I did, regardless of load ratings etc.
