They walk among us

It's a pity you can't export attitude, somebody must want some somewhere...??

It's no wonder these Herberts continue to clog up the motorways if the Police don't actually arrest a few of them and then publicise the fact......

:fail

Some people need to revisit the Highway Code. I was caught behind someone driving at 60mph in the outside lane of a dual carriageway. No doubt he thought he was driving at the National Speed Limit, even though the speed limit for a dual carriage way or more is 70mph.

Needless to say, I pulled back in to the left hand lane and watched dozens of motorists forced to undertake the idiot just to get passed him.

The arrogance of some people.

I would imagine that the gent in the article above has probably been visited by Police officers and told of his transgression, although due to Data Protection laws we are not allowed to know this.

I imagine he now tells his friends about the time he was subject to police intimidation...

Police should be given vehicles with a plough type thing attached to their near side so they can physically push these people to the near side lane, then another vehicle behind can follow them and machine gun the driver.

That'll soon sort the job out.

Bull bars on the front of police cars , and allow the American-style PIT manoeuvre which sends the target car spinning off the road would be quite apt I think

Wow!

You guys are harsh.

Bit like the panic that people get into when an emergency vehicle is approaching, people mount the kerb go over red lights etc.

Much better to pull over when safe or maintain a proper speed, the emergency service drivers are trained to overtake safely.

I was behind a car the other day who on hearing the sirens of the ambulance hit his brakes hard and mounted the kerb causing me to brake sharply and actually hindered the ambulance.

He or she must have damaged the alloys.

If by letting an emergency vehicle through you break any road traffic laws you can be prosecuted.

Having said that when there is one behind you and nowhere to go it can be nerve wracking.

Surely if you've nowhere to go, the sensible thing to do is put your foot down and stop holding the Ambulance/police car up?

Well from my memory yes far better to maintain the appropriate speed limit and the emergency services will pass when safe.

Well that's the theory anyway.

But speeds of around one hundred plus may be frowned upon.

Did they even fine the driver? If not, then why not? Of course the driver will have the cheek if there are no consequences to follow.

The upper limit (for a car) for a dual carriageway is 70...mostly they are signed at a lower limit.

Just a thought the M25 has been widened to 4 lanes which one is the middle lane.

Think the main point is that you should move over to the left wherever possible, not to hold anyone up who wants to overtake, whether it is a dual carriage way or a 3,4,5 lane motorway.

If you can make the same progress in a lane further to the left than the one you are in then you should generally be in that lane , with a few exceptions such as imminently approaching a splitting of the road you are on , or can see some obstruction shortly ahead ...

Any but lane 1, if you're that silly sod...
