Hello,

My first post, wasn't sure exactly which area to post it in but here goes!

We're thinking of buying a 2009/2010 C250 CDI Blueefficiency Auto, we haven't found the exact one yet but wondered if anyone could give pointers on what to look for, known issues etc etc.
Also, we're likely to do 20k per year in it with quite mixed driving, what can I reasonably expect to get to the gallon from it?

Also, not wanting to open a can of worms and expect a little bit of bias but what are the thoughts compared to say a BMW 320D of the same age?

Thanks in advance :)

Mark

Yeah, buy mine ;-) it's a CGI not CDI but great colour and spec.

Try a 220cdi as well. I got a demo in a 220cdi and did not bother trying the250cdi as I thought it would be just the same but with a bit more grunt. It has, but it is noisier with a pronounced gruffness under acceleration. The 220 was better in this respect. I get mid 40's mpg except on a long motorway run when, at a true 80mph it gives over 50mpg.

Just bought very same, a late 2010 sport model.

Had looked at the 320d- very good, but not so taken with the class/style/spec.

The only issue that seems to come up with these is the injectors. They don't seem to be very reliable, and indeed mine's going in tomorrow for replacement under warranty.

The performance/economy figures are impressive, but I was only getting 42ish mpg on a 60 mile gentle round trip daily commute, expecting c50. Got 32ish from old 330i!

Mercedes dealer picked up that one of the injectors was 'leaking'. Were it not for the iffy mileage, I wouldn't have known as the power delivery is fine. Will see if complete upgrade makes a difference.

So, definitely recommend proper check of fuelling. Apart from that all v good. Check co2 figs on govt vosa site as they vary according to spec. 18" rims tipped mine from 125 to the 200 quid bracket.

There seem to be plenty around so hang on for the spec you want.
