Thinking of buying an CLK Kompressor Convertible

Hi, firstly thanks for such a great website. So informative and helpful. I am on line searching for information as I am thinking of buying a 2004 CLK Kompressor Convertible and I do NOT have a clue about ANYTHING.

Currently, I am researching prices and resale values. I am an American living in the Middle East (great climate for a convertible), but wondering if I will be able to A. Take it back to the US (I have not found them on Kelly's Blue Book) or B. Resell it.

So, I will continue to do research on the value, resale value, etc.., but if anyone has any immediate advice, I welcome it.

I have never owned a Mercedes and am also concerned about the up keep, but told it is quite reasonable where I live.

Thanks,
J

As with most MB's of that era, you should check for rust. The CLK conv was particularly bad on the rear qtr's. If it has a full MB service history, you 'should' be able to get this remedied under their warranty although people on here will tell you it's not as straight forward as it should be.
That aside, very happy with the W208 I have. Quick, comfortable and with the V8, makes all the right noises.

Nothing wrong with a 4-pot Kompressor engine, mind...
