A C63 AMG, here's the link...

Used 2008 Mercedes-Benz AMG C63 AMG for sale in West Midlands | Pistonheads

Does anyone know this car?

Current owners had it around 16 months and is only selling due to relocation according to him...

Spec looks basic, not sure I like the black wheels either. Were these an optional finish from factory?

Doesn't have performance pack or diff either, lower end of price range Tho so to be expected...

Any Questions I should be asking? What sort of milage are the higher priced services (diff oils etc)??

Any common faults with C63s I should look out for?

Milage seems very low for age... Guy seemed ok but wanted to talk for ages about how amazing the car is and how it even goes into MB for a light bulb change :dk:

Any opinions appreciated

Also I notice some cars have red calipers and some have silver. Does this signify differant breaks?

If you don't like the black wheels, the spec and aren't sure about the seller, why have you shortlisted this one to look at? :o

C63s have to be about the most common AMG model around - there's no shortage of them secondhand/used from dealers or private - if in doubt, keep looking :)

Red calipers from the factory signifies the PP (Performance Pack) or PPP (Performance Pack Plus) options, they add 30 BHP and have composite front discs which cost a hell of a lot more to replace.

Didn't think Black Wheels were available on the early models, but they look factory finish (with the silver lips).

Red calipers are Performance Pack Plus (I think) from 2010 onwards.

As stated by others, plenty to choose from.

The black wheels were an option on later cars, I'm not sure they were available this early though.

The spec looks fairly basic, which is far from basic in C63 standard form, it appears to have parking sensors front and rear, these were an option in 2008 - standard on face lifted C63s (2010 on) - Also the rear blinds are options, so is the HK sound system, it looks like the chrome around the side windows has been painted or wrapped too.

Mine is a 2008 car, I bought it in February for £27k with only 27,000 miles on it, so the price looks about right to me too.

Thanks for replies,

The reason I've shortlisted this car is due to the lowish milage and price. He's happy to take 23K for the car, not many C63's with this milage for That price... I agree Tho, lots
More cars around.

Don't have reg num, could get it Tho...

As for servicing. Is it evert 10K / 12 months?

Yep, 10k or 12 months, whichever is first.

Incorrect -

Many models produced from 2007 have fixed service intervals. Services alternate from A to B and occur every 15,500 miles or after one year, whichever comes sooner. These fixed service intervals make it easier for you to plan your servicing around your schedule, making it less likely for you to miss a service

I paid 28500 for mine about 2 ,oaths ago with 26k on the clock it's a 2010

You may be right, I thought it was 10,000 miles, to be fair the MB site does say "many models" not all models, and check your owners manual, something I can't do till I'm back from offshore a week on Tuesday.

Incorrect, the service book says for C63 it's every year or 20,000 km, which works out to be 12,500 miles.

For all other C-class models it's 25,000 km as you say.

10k or 1 year is fixed interval... doh

I was told a "Golden Rule" that has served me well over the many years of buying privately owned used cars:

If you don't like or trust the owner, DON'T buy the car; walk away.

Cheers,
Robert

I thought it was that Tony, but my service book says 12,500 miles and every year.

The Don has quoted from the MB website but it says "for most models" it seems the C63 isn't included in that.

Cheers.

Sorry, maybe I misunderstood.

Mine is 12 months.... not even got to 10k miles yet.

Yeah, mine will reach the year point before it's due on miles too. I'm just on the 7,500 mile point and my servicing is due in April.

The point was, the fixed interval for the C63 is 12,500 miles not 10,000 (as I thought) or 15,000 (as The Don thought) or 12 months, that's it.

Cheers.

I am at 6800 miles in 5 years.
