This caught my eye

I don't think I've seen a car yet which looks good on three-spokes (except perhaps a Smart Roadster). IMHO, of all the cars that can get away with wearing them, this one's not at the top of the list...

Hi Ian,
Is that the proper grille\radiator surround? I agree about the wheels and that chrome on the grille just looks way too OTT

John

I used to have a Honda Aerodeck 2.0Exi (E reg - 3 door) , and i used to have this running on TSW 15" 3 spokes and it looked the business.

I agree that there are very very few cars that can pull off the '3 spoke look' but this was definately one of them.....the Aerodeck style was well ahead of its time.

I havent got any digital photos of it and i have no scanner, but if i can find the piccys i will get a mate to scan them and then post them..

This car, bin the grille, put on an OEM one, get some nice 'period' AMG styling 2's, paint the arches and i think it would be a very nice car indeed , paint looks fabulous (apart from the arch rust ;) )

EDIT :- got the walnut dash too, makes a nice change from the normal zebrano ......

Aside from the wheels looking pretty awful I suspect those images have been heavily "Photoshopped"

No it's not a proper 'Merc'-Merc.

And it's red.

For that price you could get a nice respray afterwards and it'd still be cheap ;). Slightly OTT: are the Standox colours available in the UK?

I.e they should have left it looking more standard i.e like has been said proper AMG wheels and not that grill.

Agreed on the wheels - don't look right.

Is the paint real or enhanced? Damn good if real, although it looks like a digital job.

Beatiful car with proper wheels..............

Might keep my eye on it;)

That does look a very nice bit of kit if real. Hmmm perhapse we should agree who is going to bid so we dont bid against each other ;)

As I've said on other threads - wheels can be very easily changed. The bodywork looks mint and it is described as such and if it's been properly cared for why shouldn't it be? not all MB's are rust buckets :D although he does declare a spot on one wing so it could be the thin end.

I don't think it's a patch on your current coupe Ian, but it is still a very nice car if all is as it appears to be. At least it's not a million miles away so an inspection shouldn't be too hard to arrange.

I'd go nosey for you but I'm really busy at the mo. Pity I didn't know about it yesterday as I could maybe have arranged sommat before comiing home from work. ;)

You bid on that and I'm having my old one back..........

considering Ian's track record with coupes the rusty front wings wouldn't be much of a problem - soon knock that off :D

Sorry Ian

he he - he's maybe thinking of one for Mrs W so he can get the other one back :D Oddly I'm not that sure it would work. Bev wants a nice shiney SILVER one Ian :D

Why pull to the side of a road for the pictures?? Seems odd.

Seems the seller likes that road, most of his other cars are pictured there!!

Wheels do not suit it, tyres look new though,It's lovely and shiney. The walnut on the centre consol looks tired.A future project Ian.

I do detect some photoshopping on the front right hand wing.

Ray, you want to fight Bev? You would be a braver man than me

Now Mark, how do you fancy that with a 3.8 V8? If the price stays reasonable, which I doubt, I may be tempted to do some serious grafting. Although you would be paying the bill :D
