This is just wrong......

Breathing through twin SU's it's unlikely to be making too much power - remember the similarly carb'd (different manifolds) MGB V8s only put out 150bhp. Depends on what cams are in there of course.

Hardly seems worth it compared to a 2.3-16 at 185bhp - bags more torque (and rumble) from the V8 though.

As much as I like the Rover V8 I don't think it'd work properly in that. I'd hazard a guess that my 16v would have been faster ;)

Now a 5.0 SL500...........

I like it, needs an exhaust change and a four barrel Holley.

Seeing that they've done all the hard work it would be very easy to drop a TVR motor in there.

Don't believe the TVR/Rover power hype! it'd seem most people who get 500s dyno'd fail to see anything near 300bhp, let alone the quoted 340bhp. The cars still aren't slow though given that they weigh just over a ton :D. The engine too is pretty light, weighing the same as most 4 pots which helps. It'd be far better in my Land Rover!

Now the AJV8...........:cool::cool::D:D

To white,to juicy and to rover.Who would go through all that,for!!!!!!!!!!

Remove the max power back box,

put 190D badges on it and have some fun.

Being a rover V8 there are pleanty of parts, easy to service etc

Like it. love the fact that people do what other people think how? why? what?

Yup, I've done that, though strangely in a Classic Range Rover.

I managed 265 hp from a 4.6efi (fitted by RPi Engineering) it was a lot of fun and got a few surprised looks when the old girl shifted from the lights.

I had it on the rolling road at Power+ Engineering when a new ECU was fitted. It got some quite puzzled looks from the Max Power boys when they started running it.

HMM. I'm not impressed with the loudness of the exhaust or the driving. I wouldn't want to buy a car which I knew had been driven like that.
