A drunk airline passenger who stripped naked on the tarmac and challenged the flight captain to a fight had to be tasered by police.

The burly, tattooed 52-year-old was caught on video stripping to his black underpants, shouting and remonstrating after stepping off the easyJet flight from Malta to Manchester.

He then removed the underpants and was given a hard slap across the face by his female companion before putting his clothes back on.

The stripper, who has not been identified, but spoke with a Manchester accent, also urinated on the side of the Terminal One building at Manchester Airport.

He was later tasered and arrested by the police.

Trouble reportedly began mid-flight when the man became abusive and started swearing at fellow passengers and the captain left the cockpit to speak to him.

A spokesman for Greater Manchester Police said: "At 9.50am on Thursday September 26 2013, police were called to Terminal One arrivals of Manchester Airport following reports a man was drunk and being abusive to passengers on a flight from Malta.

"As he left the plane, he took his clothes off and urinated against a wall.

"A 52-year-old man was stunned using an electronic stun gun and arrested on suspicion of being drunk and disorderly in a public place.

"He was issued a fixed penalty notice."

This sort of behaviour is totally inexcusable, he should be banned from flying ever again IMO.
It amazes me that airlines do not operate a scheme like a lot of city councils do called "pub watch", especially with the disgusting behaviour of abuse and violence towards airport and airline personnal. The pub watch scheme says get banned from one pub get banned from them all that are signed up to the scheme. If this was similar for the airlines this guy could be banned from flying from any commercial airline in this country.
With this threat hanging over people I don,t think we would see half of the incidents we do.

He'd be banned from a pub and from a football ground for anything upto 5 years so the airports should do the same. On the other hand I wouldn't be happy ending up in Manchester either

A pity they did not aim the tazar at his todger - that would have taught him a lesson.

A fixed penalty notice hardly seems appropriate. We seem to accept this kind anti social behaviour with little in the way of a deterrent available.

Would probably would contravene his human rights if he had his passport taken away /sarcasm

I suspect that he won't find it easy to board another flight for some time as airlines do share info about "troublesome" passengers.

And (thankfully) afaik there are very few incidents of this nature - which is why it makes the news when it does happen.

Got to be a man city fan! Us reds would never act in such a vile way lol

Yes, that and the fact they were flying into Manchester and not Gatwick probably means they're a blue...;)

Touché :-)

And his girlfriend says he's a "victim of Police brutality"

Followup article here. I particularly liked the comment from one of his neighbours:
One, who asked not to be named, said: “He’s a ****head. He gets drunk quite a lot and causes trouble.

"He and his girlfriend are always arguing. It doesn’t surprise me what happened.”
