Timing chain and guide replace.

Hi all,I need your advice, how difficult it is to fix timing chain and rail guide on drive way by myself, I have done load of work on my car, such as front and back, brake disk and pad, rocker cover gasket, shocks, control arms etc and got loads of tools include timing chain lock kits and sockets.my concern is how to take tensional out etc.I have watched load of videos on you tube and also got a Mercedes Benz mechanic that ready to guide me through via watts up from Africa.what do you think and how difficult it is to do this job. Thank you for your help.

Depending on the engine it's generally an engine out job especially on diesels after 2011. They started putting the chain at the back due to pedestrian safety and having a lower bonnet line.

Ball ache to do in situ and is a 2 person job with lift and jacks.

If you don't know how to do the job properly leave it to someone else who knows.
The chain is quite long you need help from a fella to hold it for you while inserting it into the engine

If that is the M271 petrol the chain is on the front of the engine . Search YouTube for “M271 timing chain “ there is loads on there .
