I have always cleaned my dash using Mequiar's interior detailer spray. But looking at it today I was thinking it looked 'tired', not dirty but not 'new' either.

Any suggestions for giving it it a refresh? I do NOT want a shiny, glossy finish. It must be as original.

I have ordered some Chemical Guys trim spray, any experiences using this?

I have just done mine with Autoglym plastic and vinyl treatment. Used very sparingly and evenly it isnt glossy.

As above, I've never needed anything other than a damp microfibre cloth on the interior :dk:

+2

Damp microfibre, used warm helps. Seems fine on the newish and older MBs that I have owned.

AFAIK, they don't put any sort of trim dressing on the vinyl/plastic dashes when they are new either?

I'm with the above.
Autoglym also do a foam spray for when the dirt is really ingrained, but imho you really cant beat a damp cloth.

...you really cant beat a damp cloth.

You can if you hit it hard enough...

As for cleaning the dash, I too hate that silicone gloss look.
Damp cloth works well for me. You could try using a window cleaner sparingly to strip away the dirt, I find Windowlene brings up the dash quite nicely.

I have always used a damp chamois leather to wipe over the dash, it's anti-static and therefore perfect for cleaning lcd screens too:)

I tried the Chemical Guys stuff on a bit of inconspicuous trim, didn't like it. Shiny and strong citrus smell.

Tried some Autoglym as suggested by R2D2. Looks good! No shine and looks 'clean' and refreshed. Has lifted the tired appearance.

Cheers guys :D

I have used Chemical Guys Silk Shine to very good affect. Gives a very soft sheen and does not leave a residue behind.
Even the missus is impressed after I have done the back interior of her Mazda 2 :thumb:

I used to always like the 'poorboys' natural look dressing - easy to use, cleaned and renovated but without any shine at all - this was on my previous E46 shape BMWs - lately tho I have simply been using the Meguirs Quick detailler and a microfibre cloth - cleans and leaves a nice smell.

You have to be careful using damn shamois and the like - can often get a bit of 'damp dog' smell in the cabin -not good!
