To Wrap or not to Wrap, that's my question?

You really cant beat paint!

By the time you've washed it 5 or 6 times the wrap will start to fail, it's VERY thin and will wear through, sorry.
No it won't. I have the hull of my boat wrapped in 3m vinyl. If I can do 45 knots through salt water then I'm sure it'll survive being washed (the boat gets scrubbed clean after every use as well).
I would still say no wrap though, especially gold!!!!

I had my SL done at Topaz and they DO NOT use a knife anywhere near the car, all PPF is laser cut before it gets anywhere near and fit its perfectly, attention to detail in corners so that there is never a fold and PPF is wide enough to cover the whole car, I looked at a couple of other PPF'd cars by other firms and I will just say "you pays your money..."
I am sure that there are many detailers and PPFers who could do a similar job, but as I have not used anyone else I cannot recommend them
I do not know but I expect a quality car wrap would be at least £2k anyway????, perhaps the OP can give us a clue to pricing and does that include door shuts etc??

here is mine

From £1200 + VAT Level 3 detail
From £1500 + VAT Front-end PPF
From £600 + VAT Ceramic coating
So from £4000 in total

I suspect the E-class will be consider a mwdium or large car and so the cost could greater than the minimum “from” price list published on the Topaz website. I dare say it will end up being closer to £4500.

It will be a top quality job though.
What does a full re-spray cost?

Ball park similar! A colour change might not be *that* much more!

That’s why it might make sense on cars which are very special for the owner with paintwork which is already close to perfect, because it maintains the originality.

It makes less sense in other circumstances. It’s an expensive business.

Then just a we note to say wrap definitely increases your insurance policy and even some companies won’t insure you. This happened to me when I had a black cls wrapped white.

You could always buy the colour car you like.
