I've been using this on Android 6 for nearly a year, my subscription runs out in a few days.
TomTom Go has so far been the best I can find for live traffic.
I've recently fitted an Android 9 HU, mainly for the better screen.

On installing TomTom Go, and it's support App MyDrive, and the UK map, the detail on the screen is lacking in 3D. I can see my route and next turn but pretty much all other detail is absent. Previously, in Android 6, there was much more information.

I can't see any settings in either App that make a difference.
I've deleted andreinstalled the App and map but no differrence.
Google comes up with nothing and I don't see anything, yet, in the TomTom forum.

Any thoughts anyone?
There's no point in renewing my subscription for it as it is.

Keep me posted I m looking at removing my comand in the Vito with an android unit Any tIps on selection / fitment ?
i do want a satnav type one but not made my mind up yet sim download one for nav or completely stand alone inbuilt
Thanks Boyd

This is the unit I'm using now. The seller accepted £310 +postage.
It looks the same as my older Android 6 uit from the front.
The electronics case at the rear is twice he size so instalation is less easy having to manipulate the wires to the left behind the HU, but not a problem.

There is twice the RAM at 4gig and that is very noticable in boot up and the running of the apps, but the earlier HU was good enough.
This one is much faster and more reliable for wifi and BT.
I returned a unit that had poor tuber reception.
The better screen is the greatest advantage as often with the older one sunlight would cause it tom be unreadable.

You may have seen the other thread discussing Sat Nav apps and now I'm using Waze due to the suggestion by clk320x

I tether to my mobile for internet on the hoof, and that provides live traffic info, as well as Google if I want.
If I don't have Google assist activated on the HU it avoids confusion when I instruct "Ok Google, call Larisa".
or search a supplier and then tell it to call. Trying to create a text verbally can be a bit frustrating due to background noise I guess, the V6 may well perform better with that.

Removing your Comand will mean you can't adjust your dash clock and the only way to set it is to reconnect your battery at midnight. There are clocks on view on the HU though.

Go for it you won't regret it.

Thanks for that already on a change at midnight as removed battery to help someone out keep forgetting late evening to remove and replace or might try midday on a 12hr clock Not done anything yet got a lot of balls in the air ( so to speak )

That's because it will be Android 6 with a modified buildprop to make it read as Android 9 and be able to install later apps.

Extra processor speed and ram will make quite a difference though.
