Hi chaps, i have just bought a Toshiba e740 Pocket Pc and The tom tom software to go with it.

Pocket Pc specs say 64mb of Ram, but i can only load the london map (16mb), anything else, the 32 and 64 mb maps of the uk dont load, says not enough disc space....

Obviously i need more RAM for the pocket pc, but i have no idea where it goes, how much it should cost etc . As i am not very technologically minded !!

Anyone got any ideas......

Much appreciated !!

H

ps. - taking ages to get the first GPS signal  and keeps dropping the bluetooth connection !

Also, can't get the pocket pc to dispaly graphics properly !!

EDIT : just sorted graphics, and got GPS connection ,but can't work out how to get bluetooth to stay connected, it drops after 10mins or so.

Sorry to sound like a donkey ......

But what sort of Memory am i looking for ?

something like this ?

http://cgi.ebay.co.uk/ws/eBayISAPI.dll?ViewItem&category=74696&item=7500518104&rd=1

also , how do i copy it to the card ????? it just installs itself, i have no idea where ?

i feel stupid asking this .........

Howard, that looks fine IIRC the e740 also has compact flash so you also have that option. As for installation when installing TomTom it asks you whether or not you want to install in the default location. It does this for all the components (base application, maps, etc). When it asks you for the maps (NOT THE APPLICATION) select no and then select the SD/CF card and it will install them there.....

Ah !! Cool, i'll give that a try once i get the card - Cheers Mambo !!

I just got my TomTom bluetooth gps receiver, hooked it up to my Ipaq, gotta say its pretty good!!!! Only tried it to and from work so far. Will have to go on a jolly with it to test it out, lose my way somewhere in the pleasant northwest countryside and find my way home again!

If anyone is trying to pair their bluetooth tomtom with their pda and are prompted for a passkey then type in 0000.

And com 8 as the port option in the GPS settings.

Set the connection not to require a passkey. The port will be different depending on the PDA and what is installed on it already, mine is port 6. I program the centre button of the joypad as a "take me home" button to save messing about
