Top Gear back on Sunday...

Please........nobody post who the Stig is revealed to be on the program.
Dont spoil it for those who have yet to see it.

BTW I'm not convinced the person who was revealed as the Stig yesterday is the full time Stig. I recon it was a guest appearance...

I missed it and was really looking forward to catching it on BBC iPlayer tonight. The BBC are so stupid and they've blurbed it on the news site!

WARNING : If you want to watch it and don't want the surprise ruined - don't read BBC news!

I watched (most) of the programme last night. My 10 year old loves it (even watches repeats on Dave:rolleyes:), but I'm finding the format increasingly irritating. We had the usual unlikely 'race' between car and other forms of transport - good idea, but now done to death and beyond. The banter is getting tedious and more suggestive - last night's offering produced the odd quizzical look from my son, at jokes that I didn't particularly care to explain to a youngster. More reference to the Porsche 'c*ckster' littering an item from Clarkson where he essentially drifted an Evora for ages, without actually showing anything about the car. The so-called 'news' spot again degenerating into yet another round of banter that the hosts admitted at least twice was getting 'off topic'. I'll make no comment on the Stig item as a lot of the video/repeat watchers have not had a chance to see it.

There's an opening in the market for a decently budgeted programme about cars that actually says something about cars.

I agree, could they not have a dedicated slot where they tell us about cars we might actually be able to consider buying. Must start watching Fifth Gear for car info.

Don't get me wrong I do enjoy the entertainment value but they need to be informative about the current car market also.

just watched the new series on iplayer..

not too impressed with content too..

alot of crap... the discussion forum style i think is a lost avenue... and the circuits etc are now very boring..

i think the older style show was perhaps better in some respectes... though im not sure any of the current formats are that good.

budget progams.. defo an avenue of persuit.

i have a 9 and half yr old yaris.. missed out on the gvt scrappage scheme.. maybe we should start on that as a topic.. lol

As has been said so many times before TG is entertainment based on cars

There are thousands of web sites where you can talk about 'boring' cars

I bet Clarkson ached after riding/firing Tornado, iv done a bit of that myself & its very hard work & somewhat unnerving at that speed, he certainly looked the part afterwards !

Did you see the big black streak Clarkson left on the wall of that bar when he flopped down at the end?!

I noticed that as well and waited for the bar tender to say something.

So which one came away from their experience with the greater lasting memory?
Clarkson shovelling coal? May in the Jag? Or Hammond on the Vincent?

Its a close call but my money would be on Clarkson.

Oh don't worry about that ..........repairs will be paid for out of the programme budget...................(That is our TV license fee)
