Update:

The leak was from the fuel filter housing which is a very well known issue with this model E-class. Didn’t realise the leak could be so big to result in such dramatic rate of coolant loss.

Anyway, the housing was replaced and everything looks perfect after a pressure test. Thanks everyone for the help.

I had a similar leak before, I found a fuel filter housing before I found out it was from the water pump. I still have the part in the garage, for a just in case basis.
