Hi folks

I’m after some advice here. I fitted a new set of winter tyres, rims and tpms sensors recently. Ive got to say I’m pretty delighted with the whole set up apart from the sensors. I bought all the items individually and put them together myself. I got the tpms sensors from Amazon allegedly pre programmed for my 2016 W213.
I followed the install instructions and drove 200 miles after the install.

The issue I have is this. There are no alarms or faults present, but I can’t get any pressure readouts at all on the dash as I did with the summer set up. That said, I do get each tyre reading on Mercedes Me and they do change slightly depending on ambient conditions etc so I’m sure that’s working correctly.

I’ve been in touch with the supplier who has agreed to send me another set of tpms foc, but I’m a little concerned that I’ll go to all the trouble of changing them again for the same result.

Has anyone any idea how to reset the system within the car to see if that helps ?

PS. The only option the car seems to give at present is to reset the base readings of the sensors, can’t see any other options available.

Not 100% certain, but I think the original sensors are coded to the car, so you'll need to get the car re-coded in order to recognise the new sensors.

This isn't the case with a W205 so it would be a shame if it was on the W213. When I swap my summer and winter wheels over it takes a couple of miles and the new tyre pressures register. There was no coding involved when I first got the winter wheels, but they are using genuine Merc sensors.

I have used aftermarket sensors on two other cars and they didn't need coding either. (Incidentally one of them was a BMW. The main dealer wanted £360 for sensors made by VDO, but in BMW boxes. The same sensors online in VDO boxes were £110...). o_O

You should be able to re-set the system in the Service menu.

Tyre Pressures/Use current pressures as new reference/Press OK.

are they autel sensors?

if so you need to program them with a unique s\n using their programming pad , the sensors will all be picked up automatically after that

Yep, tried this several times but to no avail.
I just don’t get why the tyre pressure reads on Mercedes me, but doesn’t display on the car itself.
I think the car must be seeing the sensors for the data to be transferred to MM ?
Maybe there’s a deeper reset but I dunno how to find it.

The tpms are not autel, but they were allegedly pre programmed for my model.

have you driven around a bit since replacing? normally 20 mins or so after replacing sensors?

I have just had a new set of sensors fitted to my spare set of alloys. They are not Merc sensors but not sure what make. The guy at the wheel refurb place that fitted them had to give each sensor a code using a programming pad he had. After about ten mins of concerned driving the pressures came up as normal and have been fine ever since.
