Transmission noise?

Good evening,

There is a sharp noise (like as if a rock stuck in the brakes) coming from the transmission.

I changed the transmission oil but the noise is still here.

Does anyone know what it might be?

Hi, there is no vibrations and the noise occurs as long as the wheels spin (even in neutral)

When I apply the brakes, the noise is still here.

Any ideas? Thanks

What car do you have?

On some models a clip holding the handbrake cable can break, allowing the cable to rub on the propshaft. Could this be what you're hearing?

Actually, I noticed that this noise occurs after hard driving or after a long drive.

Any ideas ?

U said u hear noises even in neutral! Something must be creating a contact between two surfaces from any moving part. Just try to spot where the noise is coming from. Then it is easier to diagnose the fault.
