Hi guys, new member here and also new to Autoglym products as I've never used it before. Since I've traded my 14year old C180, I thought I'd show the new car some care.
Wasn't sure what to get and have been prodding forums, at the same time Halfords were having the 3 for 2 offer. So I went on a buying spree LOL

I took the opportunity end of last week to try it out since we will be having some decent sunshine for the week.

Here's before the clean up, tbh it wasn't too dirty to start off with.

Took me about 6 hours to pre-wash, applied the surface detailing kit, wash again, Super Resin Polish and then HD Wax. Windows were then polished with Glass polish and alloys sealed with Wheel Seal.
I was really surprised how smooth the paint is to touch after claying. Not sure if it's me but the bodywork seemed to look 'warmer' after waxing. Also any tar and dirt are easily removed by wiping with a cotton cloth. Some Rapid Detailer helped to keep it shiny as well.

I think my neighbours think I'm slightly obsessive with cleaning since no one here really clean the cars on their own or does any cleaning at all

Sorry no work in progress, i was just too busy working on it. But here are the 'After' pics.

thanks for watching.

Nice one fella! Bet your fingers are sore after a six hour cleaning boomer...:p

Looks absolutely pristine.....Nice one......:thumb:

Having put all that work into claying etc, hope you've also read up about how to wash the car without putting swirl makks on it - as the main culprits for those are the traditional yellow cellulose sponge and the chamois leather!

Merino wash mitt for "above the waist line", microfibre wash mitt for below, 1 bucket with soapy water and 1 with clean - so the sequence is mitt into soapy water then to car then to clean water bucket then to soapy water bucket. Sounds a chore but it isn't - and it keeps the grit away from the car!

Get a big microfibre drying towel to dry the car, and microfibre cloths for polishing and "wax off".

In a few months time, after numerous washes and the car still looking pristine, you'll appreciate the benefits of all the hard work you did - as she'll come up beautiful with just a wash for quite a while!

Thank you, I was knackered after that. I prefer using mitts rather than the yellow sponges as well. I may use it for a quick alloy wash instead. The 2 bucket wash is a good tip, never knew about it until I started reading up lately.
I'll have to see how easily dirt is removed in the next wash.

AG stuff is really good, ive always loved it!
