Tyre sizes

Hi guys,

I've just bought a set of 18" wheels for my w202.
I want to order some tyres but want to be 100% before ordering.

The fronts are 8.5 so I was thinking 225/40/18

The rears are 9 so do I 245/40/18 or do I need to drop the profile to 35? Seems it may ride harsh on a 35?

Sorry if its been asked a million times but dont want to get it wrong

Yes you need a lower profile on the rear. Profile is a percentage of width...so as a tyre gets wider it gets taller.

You need 225/40 and 255/35.
