- 500L ( W221 ), 2014 AMG CL 5.5 Biturbo ( W216 ) Sold, 2014 Brabus Smart ( 451 Coupe ) Mapped 130bhp
The tyres on CL will need changing soon. The sizes are 245/40/ZR19 (Front) and 275/35/ZR19. I did quite a bit of tyre research, as the CL should have "Proper Tyres" on all four corners.
My first choice was Goodyear F1 Asymetrics, very good reviews, they don't do the rear size after recommendations from the forum i checked out Kumho KU31's they don't do the sizes, so after Palmball's rave on the Conti's P5 i would give them a try, you've guessed it they don't do them either.
Only Michelin do the sizes. So i decided to go for the tried and tested PS2's, which is a shame as wanted to try the new generation tyres out, F1's, P5's, PS3's etc, as they will be on the car for a while and they need to be the best.
I got in touch with the tyre place i have used for a few year now. Paul said not a problem, he phoned me and said not available at the moment due Europe closing down for August. I said don't worry I'm not in a hurry, that was three weeks ago. He has only managed to locate the rears and hopefully the fronts arrive on Tuesday ( that's if I'm lucky, he said ). I did ring around the usual Internet suspects and they could not find any PS2's in those sizes and they wanted £ 1200 on average fitted, Paul priced them at £ 920.00. Now i know why i have been using him for all this time. I did'nt realise those size would be such a pain.
