Renault Clio...Big Merc fan and Mum has a C Class
Hi folks, have a W204 2014 C Class Executive SE with the Artico Leather seats. The seats give me and passengers a sore backside on a long journey any tips for adjustments to solve the problem?
Thanks

It's a Mercedes though so shouldn't need a cushion. My Megane Coupe seats were so much more comfortable

Did you not test drive before buying? Saying that my father bought a new c class 2 months ago and my car is alot more comfortable, it's a size thing :D

Of course I did and I love the car to bits but the seats are uncomfortable on a long journey but I will play with the adjustments and see does that help.

I find my seats fine. To be practical what do you mean by long journeys as sitting for long periods with all your weight on your backside will give an ache in MHO anyway and cant be good for you. The main thing is back comfort.

Gets sore after after about an hour

Mrs camerafodder always complained about the seats in my old S211. I have to admit they weren't the most comfortable I've ever sat in. I did 100,000 miles in that car though so it couldn't have been too bad! The seats in my Touareg represent a huge step up in comfort from my old mercs though.

Seat comfort is an individual thing. The MB sets are good but not a patch on the ones in our Saabs. Do your seats had full adjustment including seat depth/length? If it is sore buttocks situation, try adjusting so weight is also taken by the back of the thighs. Some positions put too much pressure on the base of the spine (coccyx) area.
I find a more upright position helps with tackling this.

Alternatively, you could take the fir table out of the "Uncomfirtable seats" and replace with comfort.:D

Or put your wallet in your wife's bag!:thumb:

Tony.

Was trying to correct how to correct my mistake in the title but can't figure out how to

Posts can be edited for a period of time (I think about 10 mins) but the title is in stone unless a kindly moderator takes pity and changes it for you. Don't take the ribbing to heart. It is meant as gentle fun and not a personal attack.:thumb:

German manufacturers tend to supply harder seats than the French.

Are the wheels/tyres set up for comfort?

It certainly is, for me Saab seats are the worst of any car I've driven, on the other hand Volvo, of a few years ago at least, by far the most comfortable.

I found MB seats to be very sensitive to seat length as Giantvanman suggests, the 'Comfort' seats in our AMG were painful after half an hour until I extended the base to what I would consider to be overly long in any other car and it changed them completely.

My Volvo seats are just perfect. Not soft, not hard, just supportive of all the key muscles, such that I can do a 6 hour trip in total comfort. Buttock pain is a lack of support under the legs - try raising the front of the seat.

If having tried every permutation either live with it or sell the car. I canned my Honda Civic (for an E500 estate) as the seats were destroying my back. I also stopped going to Glyndebourne for long operas as the seat bases are too flat and too short, I'm perfectly prepared to tolerate discomfort but not muscle cramps!

Good point the later versions of the W204 with the 16" wheels had un-feasibly high recommmended tyre pressures. 36psi all round-- Why this had to be different from the previously recommended 30 front/33 rear for light loading on the self same car I have never found a satisfactory answer to --- I suspect it was to do with achieving certain emission figures .

My Volvo 850 seats were excellent, but so are the ones in my s211 but it does have the softer leather. Ps im only 11 1/2 stone lol
