I want to replace at least one of my front wings. What is the best way of preparing and undersealing to prevent return of the rust? Can this underseal be applied before the new wing is fitted? Thanks.

Can't see why not, but try not to get any on any surface that will be painted tho. That way you know that the whole wing has had a good coat ;)

If by underseal, we are talking that black tarry goop I would forget it unless I were selling the car in the next few months.

There are better products that have been discussed on here that will give a better seal and finish.

Dinitrol is very good (google for the full spec as they do different types for what ever you want to do)

Member on here (cant remember who sorry) replaced wing on his w124 then waxoyled then covered all the lips and joins in thick grease and iirc he ran it for several more years and rust never came back.

So when i eventually treat my rust spots im going to grease mine up:D

Ps underseal is crap, drys out, cracks, water gets behind it, never dries out, rots car bad.
