Not many of these around and I like this. Might be where we look when swmbo doesn't need/want an estate. But we have just bought one car so don't really need more.

Blimey they are rare. I keep an eye out for one of these myself. The 4.7 does command strong money. Using the force to resist.

A cl with the same engine would be a bit more so I'd say it's priced about right. There was one on the other forum with far fewer miles for about £21k.
If you wished a mild tweak at MLS takes this to way over 63 amg figures.

OK , I will be the first to comment .

Badly represented with $hit photographs ...Grrrrrr .

Short rant over . As you were.

Those photos do my head in.

But not as much as the colour of the hood. And then I saw the seats......

@PaulXC on the forum has one of these, with lots of positivity about the performance.

Id like to know where you could get a decent 2013 E63 for under £17K!

Only rubbish ones....and they would be older as it was M157 by 2013.

A 2013 e63 wouldn't be a 156. E55 and cls55 are nearly 10 yrs older. They're not really fair comparisons. I'm not even sure there was a e500 soft top was there from the 211?
You can go faster for the money certainly but I reckon that's a pretty good combo of model and engine.

My Autotrader alerts sent me that one earlier.

Not a bad spec but missing the cooled seats and HK audio at first glance. Red with red seats not to my taste thou.

I reckon the vendor should rethink his photography …. they look far better in the flesh.

This is what they really look like !

The 211 was saloon or estate only, no coupé/cabriolet.

That was the era of the CLK (4 seater) based on the C-class, as is this 207-chassis ‘E-class coupé/cabriolet’ (it’s not based on the 212 despite the appearance or name)

A comparative model would be the CLK500, or CLK55/63 AMG if you wanted a luxury/performance 4-seat coupé/cabriolet back then.

No AMG available in this model of E-class though, hence the excitement of this 4.7 E500. Nice enough car but I just see it as a modern CLK equivalent not an E-class and (just my personal view) don’t find it particularly exciting. An unusual choice though of course hence the rarity. Does the chassis (soft top) suit the performance, and would it benefit from the later AMG V8 options? I’m not so sure, there must be a reason why they didn’t offer this in AMG guise :)

Still a nice car to waft about in  but for me I’d take a CL or SL or even an older immaculate CLK (I prefer the lines of the 208/209 to that of the 207, something about that rear 1/4 that doesn’t look so good in my eyes on this shape?)

I’ve always thought of them a less expensive Bentley Continental GTC (first generation). Relatively comfortable, relatively powerful, understated good looks, and they even have similar rear haunches.

It's not an E-class, it's a C-class, the hood colour is foul, and the interior is pretty unappealing too. On the good side, it has an M157.

I like a coloured canvas roof, especially red, but it doesn’t seem to suit that car. Maybe the photos, maybe the combination, maybe my questionable taste.
