Hi there,

I have a 2010 313 cdi Sprinter LWB.

In December while driving at about 65mph there was a bang followed by a serious vibration that rattled the van savagely under acceleration. I mean to the point your vision became blurred.

Upon its return it has now had the following:

1. Whole new prop shaft front to back.
2. New clutch and fly wheel.
3. New engine and gearbox mounts
4. Replaced gearbox with one we knew was fine.
5. Wheels balanced.
6. Leak off test on injectors (was fine).

The vibration is now much less but still there.
It is worse in 6th at 2500rpm but is noticeable from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear from 2200rpm.

It was remapped in October to 180bhp (just thought id mention in case).

If you accelerate gently through the gears you barely notice it. Press the accelerator all the way and it starts.

Totally at my wits end now, any suggestions welcome before I torch the bloody thing.

Thanks
Ben

Hi did you ever get a reply on this as mine does the same cheers mick

I suppose that bearings in the differential input, and driveshafts have been checked, and the differential teeth for damage?
Maybe drain diff and see if there is any debris.
The shock loading from the original incident may have impacted other items in the drivetrain.

Unless we are dealing with some form of weird harmonics here your description
"It is worse in 6th at 2500rpm but is noticeable from 3rd, 4th, 5th and 6th gear from 2200rpm." would indicate that its engine RPM rather than transmission RPM related as this will be the only powertrain item that will always be at the same RPM when the problem occurs. This might suggest a problem with the balance of that new clutch flywheel assembly - is it a dual mass flywheel ?
