Mercedes ML 350 , E220 cabriolet Amg premium plus , Porsche 968 sports
Picked my car up Thursdays afternoon from my Mercedes dealer , after a almost £2000 bill for all the SBC WORK , ( ok I never paid but the dealer will still get their payment ) my CAR WAS STILL as dirty as it was when it went in on the tow truck :mad: was told they only wash them when the car is serviced now !!!!!!!! Surely that's bad practice :confused::confused:

I understand your annoyance over this bud, but to be honest, you should probably be thankful they didn't wash it.

It would have just been a monkey with a bucket.
They probably saved you quite a few grey hairs and a lot of paint correction.

Mine goes in will a BIG note on saying DO NOT WASH PLEASE.

Why is it bad practice?

As you weren't the paying customer, you don't really get to decide on whether the cost of the wash should be covered, or not.

My local BMW dealer washes every car before they go into the workshop. IMO that's a good idea.

This time no I wasn't the paying customer , still getting paid for the job though , but as a very loyal and spending customer ,i would of expected it to be nice and clean when I picked it up , thought this was a but of courtesy ....
But also Dieselman , if I myself was paying the £2k the car still wouldn't of been cleaned !!!!! Personally I think that's crazy , so I spend £350 on a service , they cleaned the car , spend £2000 on repairs and the car doesn't get washed , crazy IMO

When I was a mechanic , we washed every car that went through our workshop , added to the service IMO

You must take a lot more care of your car than I do. At work I have to park under overhead wires, so I collect a load of bird muck. The local hand car wash sees me most weeks, and the car gets a decent hard wax every year or so.

I like a clean car, but I'm not bothered personally about keeping it in concours condition.

Maybe they were giving you a hint...;)

I keep telling MB not to wash my car because it's impossible to thoroughly wash and dry it within the 10 mins or less they allocate for washing.

I only forgot to tell them once not to wash it and it came back dirtier than when it went in for a service.

When I got home I had to spend the next two hours giving it a good wash and dry to bring it up to the same cleanliness prior to it's service.

Even our local eastern european friends spend more than 10 mins washing a car at the local car wash and they do a semi-decent job, if you don't mind the odd scratch here and there.

Wow! Last time I spent that long washing my car was when I was 17 and bought my first cat. And even with 2 hours I couldn't wash the rust off!

What's purchasing a cat got to do with washing your car ? :D:D
