I took it into a garage, they say there is a low flow on EGR as one of the diagnostic faults.

I drove the car 20 miles after clearing the diagnostics, it went like **** of a stick, and then, it went back to its silly slow self.

The 2 things that they put on the invoice are;

P0105 B5/1 Charge pressure sensor voltage too high
P1222 ?25 (ea) position sensor 1 the voltage signal voltage too high.

So... Where do i go from there? :confused:

The garage i used recommended going to merc dealership, i dont think thats a good idea for a 2001 x-reg car.

Hint: Updates are always best attached to the original thread...so we know what you are talking about.

Just saying.

With a STAR machine the MAF values can be read and so it can be determined whether it is the MAF or not. You have the option of changing the MAF but it may not be the problem, £60 wasted.

I would get it to an indie, read and tested on STAR, determinine what the problem is and get it fixed. Once done, get the EGR mod fitted.

I am in Penzance in cornwall and i cannot use buryas bridge garage.

Is Somerset too far. I know an excellent guy , and sometimes the journey is worth it just for the trouble free drive home !

Well, to be fair i am better off using the right person, can you send me his details? What town is he in? Somerset is a fair way, but ill turn it into a trip next month.

I have popped into Mercman into st erth near Hayle. I got a diagnostic check, and it shows turbo has low boost, and it is also making a noise. No mention of any problems with anything else, other than some glow plugs that need replacing. Got a good condition 2nd hand turbo to fit. Been quoted £150 to fit, seems reasonable, i guess?

Lunchtime the turbo let go. Nice plumes of blue smoke out of the exhaust. I stopped and got the AA out. I got the turbo, gaskets in the post, so not all bad! Now driving an old hire car (its cheap and works!).

The previous owner was 75, i think he used it as a town car. Which is is theory, probably why it went - he did have it for 9 years of its life!

Turbo replaced. Car fixed. Glad i was on here, the help has been really useful. Thank you everyone!
