Hi all,

I know I've discussed this in the past but I have more information this time round. My car is a 02/03 220cdi w211 and it currently has the Audio 20 Cassette system. There was some debate in the past about the fact that the Audio 20 cassette system had a seperate Audio Gateway, as apposed to the Audio 20 CD system, which meant an upgrade to the Command would be simple.

Ok, having had the car on the Star diagnostic system, I can confirm my car definitely has an Audio Gateway and details are given below.

Question: If I buy a Command model 7039, is it a straight swap? Thanks

Simple .... perhaps not. Possible .... has been done before.

Maybe I should add that I don't need the Sat Nav working, just want to be able to watch dvds.

Why not just watch it at home and save yourself the trouble. If you aren't going to go the whole hog then you will add nothing to the value of the car.

There are no Sat Nav maps of roads in Pakistan hence why I don't the SAT NAV working.

Not too sure, but if the Audio20 is a single din, why not but a DVD/radio/CD player on the line of Kenwood KVT series?

Then in theory you would need a conversion cable kit, audio gateway kit and the head unit. There are many small screws and attachments that need to be supplied.

Go for the TV tuner and watch cricket too !
